This weekend Oil and Vinegar are letting you know about there versatile fruity vinegars. You are also able to try before you buy so its the perfect reason to come along this weekend!
Mango Pulp Vinegar:- Made with no less than 35% mango pulp.
The unmissable, fruity hints of this fresh Mango Pulp Vinegar taste perfect with smoked chicken or salmon. Combined with extra virgin olive oil it also makes a delicious dressing. Mango Pulp Vinegar is not only cheerful and fruity in appearance, it also makes for a sweet surprise for your tastebuds. This vinegar is a great match with fresh or smoked chicken and salmon. It could also be used with a pasta salad or – mixed with a neutral extra virgin olive oil – as a dressing on a salad, for example with carrot julienne or little gem lettuce.
Even a fresh fruit salad becomes something special with a splash of Mango Pulp Vinegar. Mango also tastes great in combination with mozzarella cheese, cashew nuts and finely diced chilli peppers. With these ideas you will no doubt serve the most delicious and sunny dishes!
Passion Fruit Vinegar – Distinctive passion fruit vinegar sets off a tropical dish such as a salad, a marinade for chicken or venison, a fruit salad or cheesecake, all in the blink of an eye. Delicious when combined with Lemon Olive Oil or Tuscan Herbs Olive Oil.
Passion fruit Vinegar can also be used on its own in desserts, by adding it to your yoghurt as flavouring or in a fruit salad or cheesecake. Mixed with whipped cream, it’s a special surprise with fresh fruit. And it’s absolutely delicious with orange or coconut milk. However you decide to use the Passion fruit Vinegar: it will make for a sunny culinary experience!
Cherry-Almond Cream Vinegar – A sweet and somewhat thick vinegar based on white wine, concentrated cherry juice and almond oil. Very much suited for more substantial salads, cheese, venison or poultry. Delicious pouring over ice cream or as flavouring to mineral water or fruit juice.
The combination of cherry and almond is a great one, and is more prominent than ever in this Cherry-Almond Crema Vinegar by Oil & Vinegar. The natural cherry extract from concentrated cherry juice in combination with almond oil results in a sweet, fruity and nutty flavor sensation with meat and cheese which you won’t forget! How about combining it with venison, poultry or cream cheese? Use your imagination, trust your taste buds and discover the most surprising ways to use this special flavor!
Blueberry Vinegar – Perfect to use in a vinaigrette, with a green leaf salad with goat cheese and add some fresh blueberries! Great ingredient for sauces, coulis and fruit compote.
Recipe for dairy-free blueberry vinegar ice cream
•1 1/2 cups blueberries, fresh or frozen and thawed
•2 tbsp blueberry vinegar
•1/2 cup granulated sugar
•1/4 cup maple syrup
•2 cups plain non-dairy milk such as full fat coconut milk.
•1 1/2 tbsp arrowroot
•1 tbsp fresh mint leaves, finely chopped
This ice cream base begins with much the same procedure as making freezer jam. Place the blueberries, vinegar, sugar, and maple syrup in a medium saucepan, and set over medium-low heat. Cook until the berries burst and stew happily in their own juices for ten to fifteen minutes.
In a separate bowl, beat the arrowroot and non-dairy milk vigorously until its a loose paste, double-checking that there are no remaining lumps before pouring the mixture into the pan of stewed berries. Stir well to incorporate, and turn up the heat to medium. Stir periodically until the mixture comes to a boil; then turn off the heat. Arrowroot prevents ice crystals forming in homemade ice cream.
Stir in the fresh mint, sit a lid on the pan, and leave undisturbed until it cools to room temperature, allowing the mint to infuse. Transfer the whole mixture to your blender and thoroughly purée. Strain to remove any bits and reserve the juice.
Chill in the fridge for at least three hours before churning in an ice cream machine. Scoop the soft ice cream into an airtight container, and let it further solidify in your freezer for at least three hours before serving.
