7TH MAY – WHAT’S ON AT THE SIDINGS?

It’s almost that time of week again where you get to head to The Sidings and pick up some great produce.  This weekend you’ll be able to grab a selection of delicious aromatic coffee from our brand new trader ‘Wanstead Coffee’.  Also bringing something super tasty this Sunday will be Maria with her new selection of moreish savoury items and Davina with a brand new Indian dish!

Come along and check out our brand new traders this Sunday.  We have Wanstead Coffee on hand to supply you with a variety of deliciously rich and flavoursome coffees.  Take a look at just a few of the coffees they will have available:-

Italian Expresso – Strong and punchy with twice as much caffeine as other coffees…….a real power coffee with a thick body and persistent aftertaste

All Day Choice – An intense and complex blend with notes of roasted nut, dark cocoa and sweet cedar wood, complimented by a creamy mouthfeel.

Signature Coffee – A balanced full bodied expresso with notes of roasted nut, dark cocoa and forest fruits.  A smooth mouthfeel with a bittersweet finish.

Wanstead Coffee also have a great range of Ethical Blended coffees too-

Barista’s Choice (Rainforest Alliance) – Blended from 100% rainforest alliance certified Arabicas, this superb expresso is balanced, bright tasting and well rounded with a spicy and aromatic undertones throughout.

Latin American Choice (Fair Trade) – Columbian and Costa Rican dark roasted, giving this expresso a deep burnt sugar taste reminiscent of caramel, butterscotch and peanut butter on toast.

An Organic Choice (Rain Forest Alliance, Fair Trade and Organic) – Good body with smoky, spicy, nutty notes from the Columbia and Java with a smooth mild finish from the Honduras.

We are all used to Maria serving up a delicious variety of cakes but she also does a great range of savoury items too and if you haven’t tried them yet, this Sunday will be the weekend to do so.  This is what she’ll be cooking up for you this week:-

Enjoy some Pastry Twists made from a delicious buttermilk pastry encasing sundried tomato paste, spinach, creamy feta and colourful fresh peppers…… a taste sensation!  She will also have some tasty buttermilk pastry pies filled with a hearty filling of potatoes, leeks and cheddar cheese or check out Maria’s seasonal Savoury Tart; made with a crunchy asparagus, tomatoes and a delicious creamy blue cheese.

La Fromagerie

La Fromagerie have a unique range of delicious goats cheese and a hard to find cheese made from Sheep’s milk.  Check out the selection they’ll be stocking this Sunday:-

Peraip – Pasteurised sheep milk with a soft and mild flavour.
Pave De Chevre – A farmers goats chees made with unpasteurised goats milk. A semi mild soft cheese from Touraine.
Crottin De Chevre – Another semi mild soft cheese made from pasteurised goats milk but his one is from the region of Charentes
Delice Du Poitou – A similar soft cheese as above but from the region of Poitou-Charentes.

Davina’s Spice Kitchen

Showcasing a brand new dish this weekend is Davina’s Spice Kitchen.  Come along and pick up her flavoursome Masala Keema.  This is a deliciously spiced mix of minced lamb, potatoes and peas.  Pair this with one of her sell out samosa, or lamb/chicken rolls and you’ll have the perfect dinner to take home and enjoy with the family!
