The Sidings N21 Grand Opening

Our Grand Opening
After weeks of furious activity and long days, The Sidings N21 market was ready to open and we were, frankly, slightly giddy with excitement.
So Much Tempting Food
The stalls were in place, the posters made, the bunting hung and the local traders were unloading their vans. Despite the early hour, the incredible cheeses, breads and cakes, meats, pies and seafood, jams and smoothies that were being stacked and arranged on the tables were really looking good. The only problem was that we were all fighting an urge to buy some eggs, bread, sausage and bacon and run home to make an incredible fry up.
But we fought the urge so that the crowds that we hoped would arrive could do exactly that, go home with incredible natural foods and products from local farmers, growers and manufacturers for their home.
And the crowds came in their droves as soon as we opened, with hundreds passing through the gates in the first hour and several thousand visiting by the end of the day.
The wonderful clear and bright day helped everyone to enjoy it, with the childrens facepainting proving to be a real hit as was the fresh fish and chips being made by the seating area.
The bags given out for free (and designed by our soon-to-graduate apprentice Zoe) were a real hit as well and were perfect for taking home the incredible ingredients that everyone was finding all throughout the market.
An Exhausting But Wonderful Day
By the end of the day we were all exhausted but happy with the market that we’d been able to bring to Winchmore Hill, to give farmers a place to sell their products and to give the wonderful people of the area a new place to get some of the best food and drink that you can find anywhere.
